Every dog has their own chewing style. Our three-level system helps you find treats and chews that suit your dog’s individual needs, preferences and experience.
While each treat/chew is assigned a primary Selection Level, depending on your dog's individual size & experience, it may 'Flex' (cross over) into another level to provide a more tailored challenge or a gentler task.
Level 1: The Gentle Selection
The Profile: Softer textures and easy-to-enjoy rewards.
The Purpose: Designed for everyday rewarding, training and enrichment. Level 1 treats are ideal when you want to reward your dog without turning snack time into a lengthy chewing session.
May suit:
• Training & Rewards: Convenient rewards for recall, scent work and everyday training.
• Gentler Chewers: Dogs who prefer softer textures and shorter chewing sessions.
• Everyday Enjoyment: A simple, satisfying treat as part of a balanced routine.
Always check the product’s suitability, size and texture before offering it to your dog, particularly puppies and senior dogs.
Level 1 · Quick Snack
Small, easy-to-serve treats ideal for training, rewarding and everyday moments of enjoyment.
Level 1–2 · Short Chew
Chews that offer a little more engagement than a quick snack, for a short chewing experience.
Level 2: The Moderate Selection
The Profile: Firmer textures for a more involved chewing experience.
The Purpose: Level 2 bridges the gap between a quick reward and a more substantial chew. These treats offer an opportunity for focused chewing and enrichment, depending on the individual product and your dog’s chewing style.
May suit:
• Focused Enrichment: Dogs who enjoy spending more time exploring and chewing a treat.
• Everyday Chewing: Dogs who prefer more resistance than a softer reward provides.
• Growing Experience: Dogs ready to explore firmer textures, provided the product is appropriate for their age, size and chewing ability.

The Purpose: Level 3 is designed for dogs who enjoy a more involved chewing experience. These products offer a longer-lasting enrichment opportunity, depending on the individual chew and the dog enjoying it.
May suit:
• Enthusiastic Chewers: Dogs who naturally enjoy firmer, more durable chews.
• Extended Enrichment: Dogs who benefit from a more involved chewing activity.
• Experienced Chewers: Dogs who are comfortable with the texture and resistance of the specific product.
No chew is indestructible or suitable for every dog. Choose carefully, supervise chewing and remove the product if it becomes small enough to swallow or develops sharp edges.

Understanding Level Flex
Our Level Flex guidance recognises that the same treat can offer different experiences depending on the dog enjoying it.
For example, a product may provide a more substantial chewing challenge for one dog but a gentler, shorter experience for another. Size, chewing style, experience and the product’s shape and texture all influence how a dog interacts with a treat.
